Singapore, 18 November 2019 – The anchor has dropped! Asia’s Largest Festival at Sea, IT’S THE SHIP Singapore has cast its sails down after their sixth electrifyingly successful sailing. This year’s IT’S THE SHIP Singapore celebration saw cabins selling at an astoundingly fast rate with 4000 shipmates coming from all over the world. With world renowned international artists, this first ever uninterrupted 3D2N exhilarating experience on the award-winning Genting Dream left shipmates craving for more.
This sixth rendition of the ship’s sailing definitely did not disappoint with showcases from EDM top dogs – Nervo and Quintino, crowd-favorite hardstyle Darren Styles, electronica bass genius Ookay and What So Not, tropical house Sam Feldt, rising techno house stars Solardo, electro house hitmakers Matisse & Sadko, and award-winning Trance DJ Ben Nicky.
Keeping in with its ethos of supporting Asian acts, IT’S THE SHIP hosted renowned and popular Southeast Asian talents like Yung Raja from Singapore, Bass Agents of Malaysia, Don’t Die Before from Thailand, and Ace Ramos and MC Pao of the Philippines. A platform for emerging turntablists, IT’S THE SHIP‘s third edition of Deck Selecta gave winning duo Double Noize from Vietnam the chance to play alongside the world’s headliners onboard the sailing.
Legendary for its enthralling programming, IT’S THE SHIP exceeded expectations with its interactive side activities and themed pop-up parties. Apart from the classic pop-up experiences like the ONEsie Party, FOAMO and Sleepless Society: One Hell Of a Party, this sixth sailing also unveiled new themed parties like Havaianas: Let’s Carnaval, Communion Sunrise and more. In line with its cheeky sense of humour, IT’S THE SHIP conceptualised and presented FYRE Fan Club inspired by the ‘Greatest Party That Never Happened’. A pioneer in the best parties, it also brought onboard for the first time in Asia, Sam Feldt’s famed Heartfeldt Pool Party. Braving the wet weather, the party was taken indoors where revelers still raved to the house anthems of Sam Feldt.
Held on the Genting Dream – the 5-star resort at sea – IT’S THE SHIP Singapore had the luxury to make full use of its myriad of recreational facilities to host activities for shipmates to enjoy alongside their favourite headliners. In between the incredible music acts and parties, shipmates were able to go glow bowling with Alex M.O.R.P.H., DJ Hapa Boy and Jordan Suckley, karaoke with Eko and Kate Fox, battle it out in the arcade with Indigo Starlight and Kaku, and JD Sports King of Trainers battle with Bass Agents, DNA and Theo Gobensen.
Highlights of this year’s sailing included Ladies of Laughter (LOL), where shipmates were treated to some good laughs with a comedy show featuring Joanne Kam, Shamaine Othman and Surekha. Dreamgirl’s erotic luxury dance performances also got our shipmates up close with the sensual dancers.
“Another year and another amazing journey. We’ve had 30% of returning shipmates this year and it is a true testament to the strong community IT’S THE SHIP has built over the years. IT’S THE SHIP has had many successful sailings and we owe that to the community of quirky and wonderful people that come together every year to have that special bond over their love for IT’S THE SHIP. It is a difficult feat coming up with better and new one-of-a-kind activations for both new and returning shipmates, hence we’re extremely grateful to have a devoted team for making this possible.” said Iqbal Ameer, Group CEO of Livescape Group.
Stay tuned for more action as shipmates can look forward to not two, but three charters coming up in 2020! Joining It’s The Ship Singapore and It’s The Ship China, the newest addition It’s The Ship Korea will be setting sail from the 28 – 31 August 2020 – making 2020 the most eventful year yet.
