KUALA LUMPUR, 24th MARCH 2020 – On the 16th of March 2020, IMARET Goodwill ambassador Vivy Yusof, husband Fadza Anuar and FashionValet team in collaboration with Islamic Medical Response & Relief Team (IMARET), have launched a fund platform (FV COVID19 Support Fund). The objective is to raise funds for our Malaysian healthcare system to support our health care workers and facilities in fighting the #Covid19 pandemic via https://www.simplygiving.com/fv-covid19-support-fund. As the response was overwhelming, another platform was then created https://kitafund.com/7541-fv-for-covid19-support-fund. To date, in the span of 1 week, RM 1.2 million has been raised through donations via the mentioned platforms.
As pledged; we have dedicated the funds to supply general and medical supplies needed by healthcare centres or healthcare workers all over the country. As of 24/03/2020, a total of RM 700,000 has been disbursed in purchasing of food packs for the front liners and medical supplies e.g personal protective equipments such as N95 masks and disposable gowns. Apart from that, we have also equipped health facilities with air conditioners, fans, fridges and many other items as these facilities handle a large number of Covid19 patients for screening and treatment. We would like to thank Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia for the kind cooperation that we have received in distributing the items. We would like to express the challenges we are facing namely procurement of the medical supplies, specifically the highly sought-after items like Personal Protective Equipment & Ventilators. This is the current major issue faced not only in Malaysia, but also globally. However, this matter is currently being addressed and we are in the midst of procuring the
supplies. We would like to ensure all contributors that we will strive to ensure that your donations will be used to support the healthcare workers in their battle of the pandemic Covid19.
Other efforts taken in this initiative is supporting IMARET volunteers that are being deployed to screen patients at health facilities. We are also in the midst of distributing our ‘Pek Prihatin IMARET’ to the vulnerable communities affected by the quarantine and movement control order.
We thus want to acknowledge & thank everybody – the public, the corporations, companies, the media as well as the celebrities and social media influencers who have shown such generosity through their donations and also in terms of generating publicity for this fundraising effort as well as raising awareness about the need to support our hardworking healthcare workers in this difficult time – “Thank you to everyone who donated (there are over 25,000 donors) and everyone who shared the links of the FV COVID19 Fund. Because of all of you, our front liners and facilities are better equipped in their efforts to save our beloved Malaysia.
The funds will still be running until Covid19 is over, so we hope that everyone will continue to share and donate to this cause. Together, we can combat Covid19 and get Malaysia to #BangkitSemula.
