CYBERJAYA, SELANGOR, 29 October 2024 – Moovby, Malaysia’s leading peer-to-peer (P2P) car-sharing platform, proudly announces the launch of “Moovby for University” in collaboration with Multimedia University (MMU). This initiative marks a significant step toward enhancing campus mobility by providing a safe and regulated platform for students to rent vehicles both on campus and in their surrounding communities.
Moovby for University offers students an affordable, convenient transportation solution, while also giving them the chance to earn extra income by renting out their vehicles when they are not in use. By improving access to vehicles within the student community, Moovby is addressing a key gap in campus mobility and promoting a more sustainable car-sharing culture.
The initiative introduces a specially equipped vehicle featuring Moovbip, an advanced vehicle tracking and keyless system. Moovbip provides real-time insights into the vehicle’s location, fuel consumption and battery health, ensuring enhanced safety and performance. It also captures telematics data, including driving patterns and vehicle condition, helping to optimise maintenance and provide a smoother, more efficient car-sharing experience.
As part of its commitment to sustainability, Moovby is also introducing electric vehicles (EVs) to the initiative, in line with the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR), allowing students to experience green mobility firsthand. This promotes the adoption of EVs and encourages more sustainable transportation choices on campuses across Malaysia.
