PENANG, 28 June 2021 – EasyParcel, an award-winning single-point logistics startup is encouraging everyone to get vaccinated with its EasyParcel x Pgeon Vaccination Campaign. Taking place from 28 June 2021 until 31 August 2021, this campaign provides 50,000 free shipments to all Malaysians who have registered for Covid-19 vaccinations which equates to a total of 25 shipments per person. This collaborative effort with Pgeon aims to encourage Malaysians to get vaccinated as a cohesive effort in achieving herd immunity.

As Malaysia sees a surge of COVID-19 infections, the government has vowed to speed up the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme. More than 622,000 cases of Covid-19 have been reported in Malaysia to date, with the rolling seven-day average of new cases peaking at 5,841 per day, as reported on 24 June 2021.

Various news have been outlining that, the government aims to increase the country’s vaccination rate to 400,000 a day in August in order to achieve 80% herd immunity by September whilst the Science, Technology and Innovation Minister, Khairy Jamaluddin has been quoted saying that instead of trying to achieve “herd immunity” from Covid-19, he instead plans to vaccinate the country as widely as possible. “Herd-immunity shouldn’t be the end goal in mind, mass-vaccination should. We need to focus on vaccinating as many people as we can, and not to solely rely on the so-called herd immunity. Even Dr Tony Fauci calls the concept of herd immunity ‘elusive’ and ‘mystical’.”

Putting aside this shift of thought and direction, it is undeniable that having as many people vaccinated will help our country maintain the healthcare system which will subsequently manage the unwanted threats with much fewer hospitalisations and deaths.

Echoing this, the EasyParcel x Pgeon Vaccination Campaign aims to promote vaccination to as many Malaysians as possible.

Clarence Leong, CEO & Founder of EasyParcel

“The rising number of Covid-19 cases is detrimental to our country’s economic well being and it also acts as a roadblock towards the road to recovery for its faltering economy since the pandemic hits.  This campaign is launched to not only encourage our employees but also to encourage the rest of us out there to get vaccinated in order to narrow the number of cases as responsible citizens.”

Clarence Leong, the CEO of EasyParcel

“EasyParcel’s free shipping can be a starting point for entrepreneurs to take their business online, especially those who are looking to cut down costs. This initiative encourages people to sell their products online while also helping them to ship their parcels from their house without the hassle of going outside during the FMCO. Even if you are sending only one parcel out of the 25 free shipments you’ve received, it will still come with a free door-to-door pick-up by Pgeon,” Clarence Leong explained.

In this regard, EasyParcel and Pgeon are not only encouraging everyone to get vaccinated, but they also want everyone to follow the entire lockdown regulations in order to help reduce the number of cases in our country on a daily basis. Therefore, they will pick up the parcel’s from their customers from the comfort of their own homes.
