KUALA LUMPUR, 27 MAY 2021 – Ramadan Special is the first cooking show in Malaysia produced by a financial company. However, OctaFX had two great reasons to accomplish it. First, the company honoured the Holy Month along with its clients. Ramadan is about being with your family, and what better way to bring the family together than cooking a tasty meal? Second, trading and cooking surprisingly have a lot in common. The guests of the show discussed these similarities while chopping the ingredients and boiling the rice.
OctaFX invited its trading expert Gero Azrul and the famous food blogger Rhys William to collaborate on this special occasion. Gero is a pro trader and coach with over 14 years of experience. Rhys is a food blogger who came to Malaysia from the United Kingdom and has been blogging about Malaysian cuisine for the past eight years.
The duo prepared Nasi Lemak—a famous Malaysian dish based on rice cooked in coconut milk with pandan leaf. However, Rhys added some intricacies to give the familiar meal a new perspective.
The show went live on YouTube on 3 May and is available for watching. This is not OctaFX’s first take on producing a show. The company likes to experiment with formats to bring its clients the most engaging and useful content. In September 2020, OctaFX launched ‘Learn to Trade with the Stars’—a series where Malaysian celebrities, including Rhys William, study Forex basics with Gero Azrul. Also, Gero currently hosts ‘Friday Nights with OctaFX’—a series about success stories of the company’s devoted traders. In each episode, Gero interviews a prominent trader about their strategy and trading techniques.
OctaFX is committed to educating its clients about trading in accessible and appealing ways. The company is aspiring to create more shows like ‘Ramadan Special’ in the future.
