[PETALING JAYA, 30 JUNE 2025]: The ESG Association of Malaysia (ESGAM) today launched ESGAMConnect, a groundbreaking AI-powered ESG platform developed in collaboration with its platform partner, iForte Intelligence Sdn Bhd (iForte). This transformative initiative empowers businesses, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises, to accelerate their Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) journey and support Malaysia’s transition toward a sustainable economy.
ESGAMConnect provides an integrated digital ecosystem supported by an AI virtual assistant that helps businesses navigate the ESG value chain. The platform offers ESG learning and talent development, digital assessment tools to identify ESG gaps and a sector-specific marketplace that connects businesses with verified partners including ESG consultants, trainers, auditors and solution providers.
The platform also supports ESG reporting and audit readiness, provides referrals to accreditation bodies and recommends relevant carbon credit platforms and markets. In addition, ESGAMConnect’s dedicated financing and grants hub links businesses with government assistance schemes and green loan facilities, catalysing ESG growth and unlocking new investment opportunities. Together, these elements transform ESG adoption from a regulatory obligation into a data-driven advantage for forward-looking enterprises.

The launch ceremony, held at IBM Malaysia Auditorium, was officiated by Minister of Digital, Yang Berhormat Gobind Singh Deo and witnessed by Secretary-General of Ministry of Digital, Yang Berbahagia Tuan Fabian Bigar; ESGAM President and Adjunct Practice Professor, Cheah Kok Hoong; ESGAM Vice-President and ESGAMConnect Project Lead, Eric Chong and iForte Intelligence Sdn Bhd Chief Executive Officer, Ng Chin Keong.
Speaking at the launch, the Minister of Digital highlighted the importance of technology in ESG ambition. “Digital technologies are central to Malaysia’s goal of building a resilient, sustainable economy,” Gobind remarked. “By harnessing Artificial Intelligence to simplify ESG processes, ESGAMConnect demonstrates how digitalisation can empower businesses to embed responsible practices and remain competitive in a low-carbon future.”
Professor Cheah emphasised the platform’s strategic purpose and national impact: “The launch of ESGAMConnect marks a pivotal milestone in Malaysia’s ESG journey. This platform is not just a digital tool, but a national ecosystem built on intelligence, accessibility and collaboration. It reflects the collective voice of the industry and brings together government, business and civil society to accelerate ESG adoption. Our vision is to empower organisations of all sizes, especially SMEs, to lead with purpose, embrace sustainable practices and thrive in a future-ready, inclusive economy,” he added.
As part of efforts to expand its ecosystem reach, ESGAM formalised strategic partnerships at the launch with Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), National Tech Association of Malaysia (PIKOM), SME Association of Malaysia (SMEAM) and Malaysian CSO-SDG Alliance (MCSA). These Memoranda of Understanding aim to expand ESGAMConnect’s outreach and extend capacity-building programmes to businesses nationwide.
Recognising that sustainable performance is a core driver of business value, ESGAMConnect equips enterprises with the guidance, standards and trusted expertise they need to translate environmental stewardship, social impact and strong governance into measurable competitive advantage. To deepen this support, ESGAM invites ESG solution and service providers to partner by showcasing their offerings on the platform, expanding the pool of locally relevant expertise and strengthening the nation’s sustainability ecosystem. The platform is live for corporate and provider registration at https://vep-uat.esgmalaysia.org/.
